Checks: All checks should be made payable to the Lillian Shotwell Orthopedic Guild
Officers: Guild officers include a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The officers are nominated by an appointed committee within the Lillian Shotwell Orthopedic Guild. Officer nominations are then submitted to the guild for voting at the April meeting. Officers share a one year term. There are no limits as to how many years an officer can serve.
Committees: You may be interested in becoming the chair of a committee. Committee Chairs are as follows:
Sunshine ~ This committee chair is in charge of sending a card to anyone who may be going through a hard or exciting time. Members will reach out to the Sunshine committee chair when they become aware of someone they would like have us send a note to.
Historian ~ This person will keep a digital scrapbook of our year as a guild. They will document our meetings and fundraisers.
Associate ~ This person will keep our inactive members informed of news from our guild as it pertains to them.
WIC Shower ~ The WIC Shower chair person will accept money at each meeting for our annual WIC shower. They are then in charge of using the money for items to bring to the WIC shower (kind of like a baby shower). The WIC Shower is held every October at the Mary Bridge Brigade Council Meeting. October is the month the Brigade celebrates the Jean Cunningham WIC Shower. WIC provides nutritious foods, clothing, plus other benefits, free of charge to eligible families. Often guilds choose to use the money to buy BRAND NEW winter coats, warm socks, mittens/gloves, clothing items, diapers, wipes, and/or gift cards which they bring to the meeting. WIC representatives will be present to receive items and share updates. WIC has shared they receive a high volume of requests for new diapers. If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to contribute items, please coordinate with fellow Brigade members to bring the items for you. For more information on WIC please visit: WIC Nutrition Services - Mary Bridge Children's
Meetings: Meetings are held at 12 PM on the second Thursday of September, October, December, March, April and May. Each meeting has two hosts, one host opens their home and the other provides the refreshments.
Guild Events: All guild events must be approved by the guild and then an Event Form must be submitted to the Mary Bridge Brigade at least one month prior to the event. After the event has been completed an Event Summary Form must be submitted to the Mary Bridge Brigade within the month following the event. If the event involves a raffle, special approval is needed as we are only allowed a certain amount of raffle events per year. The Raffle Summary Form must be submitted with the Event Summary Form if an approved raffle was a part of your event.
